Spirit of Summer Ingredients:2 drops Rose (Rosa damascena ) absolute (see Tip below) *Use a blend of Jojoba and Olive (Olea europea) oils, if desired. |
Spirit of Summer Anointing Oil is EnchantingTo make it, blend essential oils by adding them one by one into a 1 ounce glass bottle with a pump or dropper top. Then pour in the carrier oil to fill the bottle to the neck. Use organic oils whenever possible, such as Organic Jojoba Oil or a mix of Jojoba and Organic Olive Oil, over the essential oil blend. Other possibilities for carrier oils with low scent are Organic Argan Oil, Marula Oil, and Meadowfoam Oil. Cap tightly. Gently shake and turn upside-down to swirl the mixture. To use: Pump or drop a quarter-sized amount into one open palm. Rub palms together and breathe into these refreshing notes. Tap your oiled palms over your hands, arms, legs and/or feet. Then massage in the oil. Best after bath or shower but you can apply anytime. Read my “Be safe!” message below, at bottom of the page! Tip: scents of Rose (Rosa damascena) and Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum), are likely to be expensive and therefore purchasing these as absolutes may make them less costly. Make sure to ascertain their quality however, by noting the ingredients listed on the bottles: does it indicate the botanical name as provided here? An “absolute” diluted in Jojoba oil will work. Find ones that are 5% concentration of the scent. A third essence or scent, Ylang-Ylang (Cananga odorata) is distilled four times to reap the full benefit of its aroma. You want the one labelled as No. 1 or Extra. The odour of Ylang-Ylang Complete is similar but the oil lacks therapeutic values of Extra or No. 1. Frankincense essential oil is included here to provide a base or fixative to the blend, thereby making it last longer.
